“Boy, I’ve been bailing you out of trouble since you’ve been born! I’ve been MORE than on your side! If it wasn’t for me, the rest of the village might’ve lynched you by now! Well you’re on your own now! I know Brenda’s father and he’s definitely not going to let this go, you need to leave.”
“Alright, I’ll get a place of my own.”
“No, I mean you need to leave this village! You’ve worn out your welcome. Its obvious you’ve run out of places to hide or steal from here, you need to go before they string you up. Now I suggest you gather all your belongings and what you think you’ll need, and head for the nearest city, where you’ll find like minded individuals like yourself.”
You hate to admit it, but the old man is right. You need to leave this village. You gather all your equipment and sneak out during the night. You say goodbye to your parents before you leave.
“I hope you’ll mend your wicked ways, son.” You mother says tearfully and hugs you.
“Aw mom!” you say.
“Hmm, I doubt that. Chances are he’ll find new ways of conning people and be very successful at it, but whatever you do, you’ve caused us nothing grief boy, I don’t want to see you here again.” Your father says and then slams the door.
And with that bit of “encouraging” advice you set off. If you want to risk running into her father again, you wonder if you shouldn’t say goodbye to Brenda before leaving for good, you did have feelings for her, but you’re just not meant for this idle life.
