You lift up his limp form and throw him across the back of your horse. You tie him down a little with some of the rope in your saddle bags to secure him into place.

Having secured the hostage, you step into the stirrups and hoist yourself up onto Betty's back. That's your horses name by the way. You pat her neck a little before you urge her to leave the stables. You move at a slow trot to the edge of town, which is thankfully not far off, and then move to a near gallop once out of town.

You ride through the desert for close to an hour before you reach your destination, a huge desert rock that stands nearly thirty feet high. The place is known as Coyote Rock, named for the pack of animals that frequent the area for hunting ground on most nights. The area is clear of them so far, of course they are nocturnal.

You dismount and lead Betty over to the rock. You take out one of your water skins and give a bit to your horse and have a bit yourself. You lean your back up against the rock and stay in the shade while the shade is available. A few hours have passed when you hear your prisoner start to awaken.

"Water." He says through a parched throat when he comes to his senses. You look at him skepticaly. You only have so much water. This guy would have killed you if given the chance. You're not realy sure you want to share your water with him. Then again, he is your prisoner. Having a prisoner does give you certain responsabilities. A dead prisoner is a useless prisoner. A dead prisoner is also easier to take care of, you think with grim humor.

Your prisoner hasn't taken his eyes off of you. "Please. I need water." He says to you.

"Shut the hell up." You tell him.
