The golden talisman is circular and smaller than the palm of your hand, attached to a leathery braided chain. The circle is composed of a thick golden snake which is consuming its own tail; it has rubies for eyes. The snake wraps around (and thereby holds in place) a clear crystal.

You hold the crystal up to inspect it and spy a darkness in it. Upon closer inspection, you find that by looking through the crystal, you find a false wall in the room! Through the wall is a dimly-lit passageway.
