"Um, do you think that maybe we could stop for the night?" you suggest. Not that you want to be a pain or anything, but it is beginning to get quite late, and you are starting to get quite tired.
Hm... You didn't have these problems when you were a cat. Maybe you can't be nocturnal in this form, whatever it is?
Akaihane glances around. "Yes, maybe we should," he answers, nodding. He makes his way over to a large tree, and sits down under it, leaning back against the trunk.
You curl up under one of the trees nearby, just like you would as a cat. At the edge of your mind, you can hear the spirits of the trees whispering, silently reassuring you that they will warn you of any approaching danger.
You still don't know why they would communicate with you, but it's not like the reasons matter. "We don't need to keep watch," you explain out loud to Akaihane. "The tree spirits will warn us if there is any danger."
Did you wound/attempt to wound Akaihane earlier?
