War of the Gods R

Before you can decide anything, your attention is drawn to Akaihane's hands, and you notice, for the first time, that they're bandaged. When did that happen...? You don't remember seeing him get hurt, and you're pretty sure his hands weren't bandaged when he grabbed your sword out of your hands to stop you from trying to kill yourself.

-Grabbed the blade of my sword...?- Your eyes widen as you realise. Out loud, you ask, "Did that happen when you pulled my sword away?" You gesture towards his bandaged hands.

"Hm?" Akaihane follows the direction of your gaze, and then pulls his hands up under his sleeves. "Do not worry about it," he replies lightly. "They are not serious wounds, and I am fine."

You don't believe him. Even if the cuts are just across his palms and not his fingers, it'll still be difficult for him to wield a sword without a lot of pain, so he'll be seriously disadvantaged during a fight.

If only there was something you could do...

You blink as a sudden fragment of memory enters your mind. Someone was lying in a field hurting, and you were able to heal them. You can even remember how you did it. "Would you like me to heal you?" you ask out loud.

"I am fine," Akaihane repeats. "You should save your energy. Do not worry about me - it is not important, and it really does not hurt that much."

"Please?" you beg. "I'd feel better if I could heal you..." You reach out to take Akaihane's hands, and he doesn't protest further, though he frowns and looks a little worried. Carefully, you unwrap the bandages, and draw your breath in sharply as you see the cuts.

At least the edges are clean, though...

You close your eyes and concentrate, reaching for the wellspring of power deep inside you. Your nose starts to itch and your eyes to water, but you push the irritation away. Using your power, you speed up Akaihane's body's natural healing process - as much of your power goes to keeping the pain at bay, though.

Finally finishing, you let go of Akaihane's hands, and then stumble back a few paces, suddenly weakened by the amount of energy you just used.

Akaihane immediately grabs your wrist to steady you. "Lady Light...?!" he exclaims.

You shake your head slightly. "I'm fine," you reply. "I just used a lot of energy..."

Akaihane doesn't look so convinced, but he lets go of your wrist, though continues to watch you worriedly.

What are you going to do about the skinners?
