You are able to run fast enough to eventually leave the skinners a little way behind you. It doesn't hurt that you keep to the side of the road, out of plain sight.

You suddenly feel a familiar sense - the aura of the man who stopped you from trying to kill yourself yesterday. He's leaning against a tree a little way back from the side of the road.
You pull yourself to a halt, turn, and run round to shelter behind the man.
Apparently taken by surprise, the man turns his head to look at you. Then, as he apparently realises who you are, his eyes widen. "What is wrong?" he asks quickly.
-There are enemies after me,- you answer truthfully. -You can stop them... Can't you?-
When the man tried to stop you from killing yourself, did you attack/attempt to attack him?
