Molly had fallen asleep without even realizing it. There were no other people around her when she awoke, and she was shocked that the light that had filled this world and blinded her upon arrival was now completely gone. Molly looked for the door, but couldn’t see farther than the nose on her face. She couldn’t see her hands, or her legs.
She heard a whistle begin from far away. It got louder and louder. She tensed, it was a horrible sound, eerie in the dark. She stayed quiet, and waited, hoping it would stop. She felt something move beside her.
“Adonis?” she called hopefully.
The whistling stopped. Molly felt relieved. It was short lived. A moment later, her screams replaced this hissing of the night. She screamed and screamed, not knowing what was happening, and registering only pain.
Then she died.
