He crawls in, anxious to find the special shoes, almost as though someone else is trying to get to it before him. You close the door and can hear him shuffling for shoes behind it. In fact, you continue to hear shuffling noises until the car engine starts. Suddenly the boy becomes silent. You smile, and drive home. It isn't until you reach your driveway that you realize you forgot to lock the door and the kid got out when he heard your engine start. You lost. You lost your target by overlooking a simple detail. Sometimes you have to be perfect to get the perfect prize.
