You pick up a small stone from the ground and throw it at a nearby bush. The impact causes a rustling sound which seems to get the abominations attention. Whether it was the actual sound or the motion of the leaves that distracted it is unknown, but the creature leaves the door to investigate. This gives you an opportunity to run into the temple completely undetected.
