The actual surface of the planet is dotted with coral reefs where hardier types of rock did not erode away from what used to be a solid sphere. Most of it, however, has long since been eroded by the pulsing of the waves. The majority of the planet is composed of water. It sounds like a carribean paradise, but the waters are not that calm. In fact, a more accurate description of the underwater landscape would be to invision Switzerland, but then flood it. Harsh rock outcroppings poke out everywhere, and the deep rolling valleys are seldom smooth and polished. You're not really sure what rock you created this planet from, but whatever alloy you used transformed a possible tropical scuba paradise into a crystalline nightmare.
Oddly enough, the people don't seem to mind at all. They look remarkably like sea otters, except that their hues have an astonishing neon aspect which contrasts brightly to their pale environment. The only difference is that the sea folk have blades on their fin surfaces, allowing them to be fierce warriors and craftsmen despite their lack of opposable thumbs. They use the physics of water to compensate, and have developed a culture highly remininsent of ancient Rome.
