Just an Olde Fashioned Love Song
"All right, Gunther, if you'll just stand here in the center of the room." Alex looked up and saw his hesitancy. "There's nothing ritualistic about it, I just want you out of the way."
Gunther laughed, and stood in the center of the room while Alex began rummaging through various things on the chambers edge. It was a miracle all this junk could fit in the room and still be able to reach the spiral staircase, let alone have someone else in the room!
"Okay, Gunth, first things first. Do you trust me?"
"Well, yeah."
"Good. I know for a fact that this next part is going to freak you out. Just trust me on this. I need you to breath in this flask."
Gunther took the flask from Alex's hand and looked at it. It seemed like a normal piece of glassware, except it had faint blues lines traced over the surface, and a matching glass stopper. He shrugged, pulled out the lid, and breathed into it like he was told. The flask grasped onto his breath, and pulled. Gunther could feel all the air being sucked out of his body, forcing him to exhale in a steady stream. He should have passed out long before, and yet his breath just kept coming. After a few seconds that seemed to last forever, the magic of the flask was finished. He corked it, in case it would have otherwise escaped, and then handed it back to Alex. "So, what is that in there?" he asked, conversationally.
Alex shrugged. "Your soul."
"Wait, what? Is that even possible?"
"Would it have happened if it wasn't possible?" Alex rolled his eyes, talking as he worked. "Yes, that's your soul. If you were to die now, you'd be wiped from existence. And if that soul were to possess someone, there'd be two yous. It's kinda hard to explain right, but...just go with it. It's a necessary step in many incantations. The soul provides an imprint to make the spell work for a specific person. Things like...umm, if you wanted to live forever in a clay golem, or..."
"Love potions?"
"Of course!" said Alex, laughing. "By putting an essence of you in there, it'll make the drinker fall in love with you."
"So, they'd drink my soul? Don't I need that back?"
Alex laughed as he finished up whatever it was he was doing. "Geez, Gunth, only you would think of that. Souls try desperately to get back inside their proper place. It'll enter your body again when the two of you, uhh, screw."
"Ohh," he said, blushing.
"Oh, stop being so modest. Like her body doesn't scream 'fuck me!' You're probably getting hard just thinking about her. Once she loves you, she'll won't mind letting you inside of her. Hell, she won't even be disappointed by your embarassingly small dick."
"Yeah, I- hey! Low blow!" said Gunther, laughing.
"Ah, yes, the truth can hurt," he said, pretending to be some sort of Confucius. "Here's me," he said, holding up his index finger, "...and here's you," he said, bending his thumb.
"Hey, you're the one who's looking at other guy's dicks!"
"Oh, you got me!", said Alex, confessing with exaggerated flourishes. "Oh, society! Look what you have done to a poor innocent suburb boy! Take the potion and leave me, foul temptress!"
Gunther smiled. "Thanks again, Alex, I- hey! Temptress?"
Alex laughed. "Just go, already. See you after class."
Gunther laughed, and stood in the center of the room while Alex began rummaging through various things on the chambers edge. It was a miracle all this junk could fit in the room and still be able to reach the spiral staircase, let alone have someone else in the room!
