Just an Olde Fashioned Love Song
"Hold on," said Melissa, picking her ridiculously small and probably ungodly expensive purse, "You walked here, didn't you?"
"Well, yeah..." said Gunther.
"I thought so. I'm not walking anywhere. We're taking my car," she snapped.
"Melissa, my house is right off of campus. By the time you detour around the streets closed during school time, it'll be twice as slow."
"I don't believe you," she said simply, walking out the door.
Cursing under his breath, Gunther followed after her. She was a surprisingly good driver, if not impatient, and he finally managed to direct her in front of his house.
He opened the front door for her- it was seldom locked, and she walked right in. "Hey, Alex," Gunther called out. "Where are you? I've brought someone over for a project."
"I'm right here," muttered Alex, turning around to lean over the back of the sofa. "Would it kill you to- holy fuck!"
"What the hell is your problem?" Gunther asked, as he watched Alex spring to his feet. He glanced between the two of them. Melissa was standing with her arms apart as though enraged, and her face was washed in fury. Alex, on the other hand, was standing perfectly straight, with his arms in front of him, and his hands at chest level.
"Gunther? Run."
Before Gunther could ask Alex what the hell was going on, Melissa took a sudden flying leap in the air. She didn't take a running jump or anything- she was just up! That wasn't natural, so how...she wasn't natural... Her skin now had a distinct bluish tint, and her long demon wings were fully extended. She lept to the ground in a corkscrew, but Alex managed to roll out of the way. She flung around quickly, swinging her pointed tail in a fierce arc. It didn't look sharp, but it left a deep gash on Alex's arm, who hadn't managed to jump far enough out of the way.
Alex shifted to the side, letting Melissa's weight carry her through a lunge which missed its target. He began to form various hand gestures with his hands, which somehow seemed unnatural to Gunther's eyes. She spun around quickly on her heels, and swung her right arm out in a quick, slashing action. Alex grabbed her arm with his left hand, and gripped hard. She dropped to her knees in pain, screaming in unnatural tones. With his other arm, Alex planted his hand directly onto Melissa's face.
There was a flash of light, and Melissa fell to the ground, dead. There was a distinct discoloration where Alex had gripped her arm, and the handprint on her face was smoking. Alex stood over her body for a few more minutes, panting heavily, as if making sure she was truely dead.
