Cut to: A fairly neat living room. A handsome young man watches the television reclined on a chair that doesnt look as though it ought to be reclinable.
In the background we hear someone coming down a set of stairs and soon after we see the guy from the shower enter the room, dressed in a collared shirt and a pair of khakis. His name is Hank, his friend who watches TV is Mick.
Hank: Well? (holds his hands out to his side) What do you think?
(Mick turns his head to glance over at Hank)
Mick: Looking sharp, Hank; looking sharp.
Hank: Thank you, Mick.
Mick: When are you headed out?
Hank: Now, actually. I dont want to be late today. (Hank sighs a bit and then pulls a ring box from one of his pockets. He shows it to Mick.)
Hank: Did I show you the ring yet? (Opens the ring box, within is a nicely crafted platinum band with a good sized rock on it.)
Mick: Yeah, man; yeah. Thats real nice. Look, if it dont work out with you and Violet Ill fucking marry you for that ring. (Hank laughs a bit of a nervous laugh.)
Hank: Fuck, my nerves are shot over this shit.
Mick: Eh, you got nothing to be worried about. Thats a nice ring, and that aside youve been with her for how long now?
Hank: About six months. (puts ring back into pocket)
Mick: See, thats what Im talking about. You got nothing to worry about. (returns his gaze to the television screen.)
Hank: I guess youre right. But I cant seem to shake this uneasy feeling. Am I jumping too soon?
Mik: Better too soon than too late, Hank.
Hank: Yeah. Thank you.
Mick: No problem, man. Anytime you need some half-hearted reassurance...
(There is a bit of silence between them as Mick stares into the depths of the television and Hank looks absently towards the door.)
Mick: Hey, you mind if I stay here and finish watching this documentary?
Hank: Nag, thats cool. Just make sure you lock the door behind you when you leave. I dont trust the drunks next door.
Mick: Will do.
Hank: Alright. Im off then. (Walks towards the door)
Mick: Good luck.
Hank exits. The moment the door closes, the screen goes black and we...
