Christian's Castle PG

You've hardly gone 100 yards down this tunnelway before it turns abruptly to the right. After a few strides more, you come a small half-circle of an opening just above your head on the wall in front of you. As it turns out, the passageway has an equally abrupt turn to the LEFT, (making it assume its previous direction) with these openings near the ceiling on the right wall every 5 feet or so.

Through the iron bars that block these openings (making them seem like the more appropriate sewer drains than windows), you can see what appears to be an illustrious library through whose colorful stained-glass windows pours glorious light. You cast your eyes backward at the flickering dimness of the torches on the left wall with disdain, and continue along the tunnelway, intent on finding a way to this library.

As you turn to follow this new hall, a hidden iron portcullis slams down behind you. You turn and see an iron plaque in the midst of it with raised letters that seem to bear the name of the group responsible for the barrier - it reads: "Intelligensia". You shrug. You are purposed in the other direction anyway.

You follow the hallway to its conclusion, peering longingly through the openings to the right. At its terminus, you see two doors on the slimy stone wall ahead. The one on the left is as dirty as the wall in which it resides, even covered by cobwebs. You brush a few aside to reveal the word "Repentance" scratched in the door, as with a wooden chisel. The door also has a ruddy, rusted iron handle and a keyhole which suggests to you that it is perhaps locked. You try it, and it is. The door to the right is a well-maintained, glossily-stained, rich auburn wooden door that smells of cedar. Its shiny brass push-plate suggests not only the fact that the door most likely swings both ways, but is used often. It bears highly-skilled wood chiseling work, stained in gold, with the letters done in calligraphy that reads: "Enlightenment". How inviting!
