Best Laid Plans and Unexpected Revelations

After the massage session, Jerome pulled Darious aside to have a chat with him.

"Your brother Edward mentioned that he showed you the Rune."

"Indeed father," Darious replied. "Yet if anything we're to go wrong I'll have my crew dispose of the Rune."

Jerome chuckled and embraced Darious in a massive hug. "That is an acceptable outcome. Yet I suggest that we purify the Rune of Gluttony. With it we can end world hunger and prove that perhaps that these runes can be cleansed. Yet I'm also aware that you seek the Wizard's Coins as well considering you have two."

Darious chuckled. "Each member of my crew has a coin as well. Yet I do remember growing fatter after finding a coin after entering town."

"You have definitely grown big my boy. Yet for some reason I had the strangest dream that you were not son, but a fat dog."

Both men laugh unaware at one point that was the case. "Darious for the purification ritual you'll need to put on weight. The ritual requires one of noble heart, lineage, and girth. You Darious are very well that my son."

"Father, it will be an honor. Yet, I think we ought to get ready for lunch."

As Jerome and Darious made their way they were stopped by the very same maid that Darious asked to fetch his crew. His crew were speechless as the maid introduced their captain as Lord Darious.

The crew didn't recognize Darious until he began speaking. "My dear friends, glad you could make it to my family mansion."

"Darious, you never told us you were of noble birth," Morgana said.

"My apologies, but I didn't want the secret to go out," Darious said.

Darious then hugged his friends. Taken aback the Dread Pirates didn't know how to react by being hugged by the jolly fat lion nobleman who was also their captain.

The Dread Pirates began whispering amongst themselves regarding Darious.

"Is it me or is the coin that Darious wearing transformed him into a lion?" Leeko asked.

"He's still Darious, but he seems somehow more noble then when first met," Mila said as a slight blush came across her face.

"This could benefit our mission at some point," Morgana said. "Even if Darious is a fat lion now he might have learned about more of the coins or the runes."

Darious chuckled. "Already planning our next voyage? I plan to stay a few weeks and you're welcome to stay here. Besides we might find out where the next coin is located. However, let's grab some lunch first."

The Dread Pirates were treated to a huge banquet. Yet they are only enough to satisfy their appetite while Darious and his family devoured the the entire banquet. It wasn't until an hour later Darious, Edward, and his father Jerome were stuffed with their mother consuming a little bit more food than the previous meal, but still finishing earlier than her boys.

After Lunch Darious has the servants treat them all to a massage.
